Individual/Family Therapy

In working with individuals in therapy using the family systems framework, changes can still occur throughout the family. With fourteen years of experience, I have helped many people work through their struggles, in the hopes that they can live a little bit more peacefully within themselves and with others. I have treated a wide range of concerns during that time, and I am open to discussing how I can help you.

Play Therapy

It is through playing that children essentially learn about themselves, relationships, and their world. Playing is natural for children, and as such it is an important part of the therapy process here. Through playing in therapy, children can work out some of the feelings that otherwise might continue to cause troublesome behaviors or thoughts. Play is how children communicate, and to expect them to sit and only talk about their problems like an adult would in treatment is senseless. In play therapy, the toys, such as this dollhouse, are the child’s words and through careful observation and training, the therapist can assess and treat concerns. Children in play therapy can also learn to problem solve and modify their own behavior. It can change the way they think and feel about the problem so it is no longer an obstacle. Research has been shown to support the effectiveness of play therapy with children experiencing a variety of social, emotional, behavioral, and learning problems.
